The Global Talent Stream (GTS) is a specialized program under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program that provides Canadian employers with a fast and efficient process to hire highly-skilled global talent when Canadians or permanent residents are not available. Application Timeline

Week 1: LMIA Application

Employer submits GTS LMIA application with benefits plan and supporting documents.

Week 2: LMIA Decision

ESDC processes LMIA application and issues decision within 10 business days.

Week 3: Work Permit Application

Worker submits work permit application upon receiving positive LMIA.

Week 4: Work Permit Decision

IRCC processes work permit application within 2 weeks for complete applications.
